Fairyloot Unboxing- October

Hey guys it’s been a while. Thought doing a unboxing will get me back into the swing of things 😁

This months theme is Beautiful Deceptions

I absolutely loved this months box. I’ve had a bit of a issue with the last few months as I found they were lacking, however, I feel they are back on track and I love it.

So included in this months box was…..

Stories keychain inspired by The Winner’s Curse by Marie Ruthoski. This keyring was made by KDP Letters

Aelin Candle from the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Mass created by Nerd Poured Candles. I love the smell of this candle. Definitely one of my favourites.

I love getting tea in book boxes, especially mint tea. This was inspired by the characters in this months box and was created by The Tea Leaf Company.

One of my favourite books this year was The Cruel Prince by Holly Black, so you can imagine my excitement when we received this deck if cards inspired by the book. It features artwork by Emily Haynes in collaboration with FictionTeaDesigns.

As I said, I was really excited about this box. I’m also a fan of the Grisha Universe. Unfortunately I’m not sure who created these, just that they are a bonus item. If anyone knows, please comment. Thank you

So pleased they included a hat again this year. It would be lovely for it to be a yearly thing ready for winter. The Mourners Beanie was created by Fiction Tea Designs and is inspired by Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo.

Erm….. yay socks??? 🤣 nothing wrong with socks, they just don’t excite me. These socks were inspired by Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard and created by Fairyloot.

The book of the month is Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan. Its so beautiful with pink sprayed edges and signed by the author (I have put the synopsis below the photos.)

Synopsis- Each year, eight beautiful girls are chosen as Paper Girls to serve the king. It’s the highest honor they could hope for…and the most cruel.

But this year, there’s a ninth girl. And instead of paper, she’s made of fire.

In this lush fantasy, Lei is a member of the Paper caste, the lowest and most oppressed class in Ikhara. She lives in a remote village with her father, where the decade-old trauma of watching her mother snatched by royal guards still haunts her. Now, the guards are back, and this time it’s Lei they’re after–the girl whose golden eyes have piqued the king’s interest.

Over weeks of training in the opulent but stifling palace, Lei and eight other girls learn the skills and charm that befit being a king’s consort. But Lei isn’t content to watch her fate consume her. Instead, she does the unthinkable–she falls in love. Her forbidden romance becomes enmeshed with an explosive plot that threatens the very foundation of Ikhara, and Lei, still the wide-eyed country girl at heart, must decide just how far she’s willing to go for justice and revenge. – Goodreads.

Still one of my favourite book subscription boxes and I understand you can’t please everyone. However, I’m so pleased that they seem to be going back to how they used to be.

Did you receive this months box? What did you think?
