Synopsis – They’ve got a real head start . . . .
Everyone knows about Hill House. It’s the biggest tourist attraction in town. That’s because it’s haunted. Haunted by the ghost of a thirteen-year-old boy. A boy with no head!
Duane and Stephanie love Hill House. It’s dark. And creepy. And totally scary.
Still, they’ve never actually seen the ghost. Until the night they decide to go on a search. A search for his head . . . .
As a child (and adult) I love ghost stories. At school discos I never danced, my friends and I used to hide in the cloakroom and tell each other ghost stories. Naturally, this was the first book I read as a child. Once I’d read it, I’d read it again, mostly around Easter I remember 🤣 I thought I’d read it again as a adult and yep, it’s just as good as I remembered. For me I feel it is a good ghost story. I know obviously it is aimed at children, but still, it has a creepy atmosphere to it that it’ll still creep out adults.
If you have children who like spooky stories (think campfire/ halloween ) then I’d definitely say get them this.
Has anyone else read this book? What’s your favourite childhood book?
